15th Annual SXSW/Yard Dog Party

Postcard for our annual SXSW party at the Yard Dog Gallery in Austin TX. Artwork by Pete Klockau.

I mean, that’s a killer-diller line-up.

From the book, on how it all started back in 1996:

“We partnered with Yard Dog, a contemporary folk art gallery with a backyard on a rundown block in the wilderness south of the Congress Avenue bridge; it was far from the convention center, the expense-account hotels, and the gaudy Sixth Street entertainment zone, but close to the venerable Continental Club, numerous vintage stores, and the magical, tequila-based elixirs at Güero’s Taco Bar. With a sound system powered by a generator on a pickup truck, an ad hoc stage set on milk crates, and two kegs of Lone Star beer, we invited one and all, no conference badge or festival wristband needed--an egalitarian approach we never wavered from--to enjoy an afternoon of free music.”
