Matthew Smith is a musician and producer from Detroit who has worked with a wide range of artists, including Outrageous Cherry, the Volebeats, Rodriguez, Andre Williams, Nathaniel Mayer, the Go, Crime and the City Solution, Paul "Wine" Jones, and many others.
He currently leads the Matthew Smith Group and plays a lot of weird records on his internet radio show, Matthew Smith's Vinyl Cosmos.

Come join us for a very special evening of music and conversation celebrating the legacy and songwriting of Justin Townes Earle. This event will begin with a conversation about Justin, his history in Chicago and his relationship with his label, Bloodshot Records, between author and Bloodshot founder Rob Miller and Justin's biographer Jonathan Bernstein. Following the conversation will be a performance by Sammy Brue, whose recent album is a collection of songs he posthumously co-wrote with Justin after going through the late songwriter's unfinished lyrics.
