“Before a Black Flag show, I passed a table in back and bassist Chuck Dukowski was writing out the set list. Right there. Quietly, because who the hell was I to interrupt, I asked if they were playing “Depression” tonight. He looked up at me, grinned, and wrote DEPRESSION on the list. Just like that. And they played it. A couple of months before, I had seen this band in a moving picture, and now I was talking to one of them, asking for a song, and getting it. It was so unreal, immediate, and personal. Did Aerosmith fans ever feel this way?
